OK, I was tagged. And since I've enjoyed reading about everybody else and getting a little insight into everyone's personality, here's my Ten Things (& Ten Pictures):

1. I'm an Architect. I design, detail, and write specs for buildings (mostly commercial stuff). Licensed and registered in 2 states. Not that crappy "software architect" job description that has clogged up the job search engines for the last decade for us regular architects.

Part of my housepart of my house

2. I'm 36, married, no kids. That's right...DINKs...dual income no kids. We spend most of that dual income on fixing up our house...see #1...kinda a passion. The cover of the Sears catalog in the year I was born:

alas, i was too young to trulyappreciate the fashions of the early 70s

3. I'm a girl gamer. We're a rare breed in the over 30 crowd.

My avatar

my xbox avatar...scary resemblance to the Sears covergirl, eh?

4. My dream job would be a stunt car driver. I love driving fast, but I don't drive too fast anymore...see #2 above. My first car was my grandmother's hand-me-down which I had in college...a BLUE 1969 Volvo 144S...fun to drive in the snow with that rear-wheel drive...a whole lot of fishtailing going on. My first new car was a black 98 Acura Integra GS-R...stick...still own it, but almost crashed it in the rain the first month I owned it. I also bought a bike...a 2000 Suzuki GS500E, which I've since sold...affordable 0-60mph fun/adrenaline. I figured I'd upgrade the 500, but never did...which at least makes my husband happy. 5. I like sports...playing and watching, but I guess more watching now than playing, because I'm slowly getting more and more out of shape...see #2 and #3 above. I also like outdoorsy stuff like snowboarding, hiking, camping, etc. Not much of a bicycle rider, though, at least not as an adult.

6. I like art. Old art, modern art, contemporary art. Cartoons, comic books, computer animation. I really appreciate the effort that goes into the creativity on all levels. I like sculpture the best. I minored in Art/Architecture History in college.

7. I also like regular history. Art history, architecture history, European history. Pretty much anything prior to the 20th century. Not a huge fan of American history even though I'm American. I minored in European History in college.

8. I like books. Clas-sics, historical fiction, comic books, sci-fi/fantasy, architecture books, and the occasional sappy love story. But haven't been an avid reader since a few years after college...an event that probably coincides nicely with the release of the PS2. My favorite book of all time is Catch-22.

9. I like movies. Clas-sics, dramas, film noir, thrillers, action, adventure, animation, anime (but not TV episodes). I really appreciate the cinematography the most. Not much of a horror film watcher, though. Favorite film is Citizen Kane.

Citizen Kane...rosebud...

10. I'm a conservative...which probably doesn't seem to correlate with #1-9 above, but it really does. I like to live big, but in the end, I'm not a huge risk-taker.

@lordkingboat: you're too fast. Gamespot is too slow. I finally uploaded the last two into my post. They took a while to get off my computer, into gamespot then copy over the link into my blog. Check 'em out. Thanks for the compliments, though. And I love the old bikes...especially the old hondas.

Nothing wrong with being conservative, take it easy, take it slow, you will end up on top that way. Taking chances with non-conservatives may, or may not, get you on top.

You sound like a very intelligent individual. I would've never guessed for you to be a 30+ female gamer. That is a rare breed! lol Didn't you add me on Xbox live? I remember seeing that avatar on my friends list...great blog and I love the Integra GSR... I've always been into imports.. I drive a Civic

@10below My computer at home is the infamous i-Mac! Sometimes, it is even faster then me!
I like the placement of the wall sconces! If I were to assume, staircase?

@jakethesnake159: yep, i like the challenge that games offer. I'm very competitive inside, but i don't let it take the fun out of playing.
@spotty_bug: agreed! slow and steady wins the race.
@syler4815162342: Good idea! I will!
@S1MSTA: it's all lies. just kidding.
@gamer_4_fun: lol...if i actually WAS a stunt car driver, THAT would be awesome! I can dream, though.

@lordkingboat: you're spot on! that is my stair! the pict is looking out from the top of the stair to the wall on the far end of the stair...the stair drops away below...and we opened the ceiling up through the attic and put in a simple skylight...during the day, the glow of natural light on the bamboo causes angels to sing!

@theslimdavylp: yeah i have you on xbox...war deciple...we should play! and i LOVE my integra. it's so peppy even being 12 years old. at one time just a couple years ago (about the time i was looking to replace the timing belt) i was thinking it would be cool to juice it up a bit, but i never did anything. it's got 90K miles on it...i put 60K on it in the first 3 years, and about 5K a year ever since. and in this last year, someone stole my distributor right out of the engine! lol. a 12 year old distributor? someone definitely needed it more than me. but now, whenever i pass a slightly beat up integra or civic, i think, is that my distributor's new home?

LOL, thats funny... yeah, young thugs love those cars. I read on a list somewhere that the Integra is one of the most stolen cars in the US. They should make a new one.

@theslimdavylp: Yeah, it's also easy to break into because the windows don't sit in a full frame. I had an alarm for it but that gave out a couple years ago, and I didn't think it worth the money to get it fixed. Not having a car payment for the last 6 years or so has been unbelievable. I don't know what i'll do when it truly comes time to replace the integra...the RSX sits up too high for my liking...and I don't want a big car.
