I actually prefer Buffy and I think Season 2 was Angel's best year. But as long as your favourite show/season has to do with Joss Whedon, then what the heck it's all great. Try Firefly now. It has nothing to do with the Buffyverse but it's by Joss and some of the Buffy and Angel writers. It's only 14 episodes (one of the episodes is double-length though) and there's the movie Serenity which concludes the series.

I think season 3 and 4 are the best. Angel is indeed, the best show, ever.
