GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

I recently looked into how much the retro games on the wii cost, and I have to say, what a rip-off! If you go to a site like www.skullbox.net/segaemulator.php, you can download an emulator and 40 genesis games for free, and it takes like a second to download. Not only that, but you also get a very useful save system for your games if you download the emulator. Why on earth would someone pay $8 for just sonic the hedgehog when you can get sonic the hedgehog and 39 other games for free!?

For starters, I think emulators are illegal unless you own the original system...and even then they're shady. It's also against the law to download games you don't own for free; it's called pirating. The Virtual Console is an easy, safe, lawful way to get old games.

Maybe is because they feel guilty for dowload no-legal stuff.... I just will buy games that really have that sentimental value for me

it's not illegal to download the game if you own the original copy. If you have sonic CD, but the disc doesn't work anymore or something, then you can download the rom and it's perfectly legal. If you DON'T have the original game, then you must delete the game you downloaded within 24 hours of download. So even if you dislike emulators because they can be illegal, you can LEGALLY use them to check out games for free before you actually spend 5-20 dollars on the wii's virtual console.
