I'm currently going through an overdose of First Person gaming. While I'm ripping through Half Life 2, I still have Doom 3 to play after that, and I ordered the Far Cry and (finally) MP2: Echoes! I hope they don't take too long to get here since I really can't wait to get stuck into Echoes.
Half Life 2 is completely owning me right now. I'm quite busy with all the assignments I've got to do for University, but I still manage to squeeze in a good 1 to 2 hours of gaming every day, and I must say that it's definately the best FPS I've ever played. I've still got a long way to go though since I only just got to Nova Prospekt.

Damn, in the title I purpously left out the "shooter" part because of Prime, but then I just wrote FPS in the post. I meant what I said in the title though.

I've never been a fan of first person at all. I'm not sure what it is. My roomate gets motion sickness from first-person, but that's not it for me. I just find it very difficult to maneuver around and my sense of direction gets all messed up as well for some reason (which is probably counter-intuitive).
But either way, it does seem to be the popular genre of choice these days, so it'd probably be pretty easy to overdose on.

I don't think it's that counter-intuitive since the brain tries to super-impose it's view by what it's seeing on screen, while it's already trying to cope with actually seeing through your eyes, while third person views are more natural since it mimicks what we see in reality.
