On its own merits, Ghost Rider is one of the most pretentious movies out there. Considering super heroes and comic-based icons don't mesh well with the motion picture industry, Ghost Rider had very little potential to begin with. The biggest letdown was the bland acting and poor script. When people like Cage and Mendes come to mind, one might think great acting. But it just wasn't there. In fact, this was one of Nicolas Cage's worst acting performances, and habitual reasonings confide within the abysmal script: corny dialogue snippets unstressed action scenes really let the cast down. Supposedly, after Johnny Blaze (Cage) makes a deal with the devil, he's encountered by the four villains of the story. They don't look bad at first, but they still bring to the table what most comic-based action movies bring: terrible film coordination. It was like watching a game-based movie like Doom or a movie-based game like The Incredibles - it just doesn't add up. Anyway, these four villains don't represent much of an antagonist group: they die off quickly, their names are said maybe once throughout the movie, and they match up to Ghost Rider like Super Man 64 matches up to Halo. Over all, you can't really enjoy this movie without a sense of awkwardness, unless you're there just for the action. Some scenes do look great graphically, but it doesn't make up for the incredibly terrible acting, script, and events that take place. -Tish
