For the most part, I like the new review system. Except for the .5 increments. And I'll explain why:
The entire reason behind .5 increments was to make things go faster; so you don't have to "puzzle over what the big difference is" between a game scored 5.2 and 5.3. But here's the rub: what about two games given the same rating? With this .5 system, this is going to happen more often than with .1 increments. You're not longer going to puzzle over two games with slightly different scores, but games with the same scores, defeating the purpose. You're going to have to look over the entire review because the individual scoring for each category has been eliminated. You can't decide which game has the better gameplay or the better graphics or better value.
Now you see the problem that arises with the system. The .5 increments were meant to make things faster and be simpler, but it makes them harder in the case of same-rated games, which occur more BECAUSE of the .5 increments. And now with the same rated games you can not longer look to see which one is better in certain categories, if they're rated different at all.

I miss those breakdown bars though. It....broke it down....
I know they don't want to use that rating system but why the hell can't the graphics, gameplay etc. be un-related to the final rating?
I just don't understand GS sometimes.
