First off, kudos to Gamespot for the absolutely gorgeous new design. I like everything about it. No, I love everything about it. It's flawless.
I made some new artwork recently. Check it out.
To see the full size version of the Snowman piece, click here (note, it's a big download) I'm working on something new in Illustrator, all done by hand this time rather than photo manipulation. Unfortunately I can't work on it at home, because my home computer is dying. Hard drive is almost completely shot. So, I'm stuck to working on it between lectures at school.
Ah, school. I love school. It's a great place to be. I'm glad to be back. Can't wait to get done with it, though. I'm anxious to finally get my career started. To hell with web design, I should have started with graphic design from the start. It's so much more satisfying to see your work on paper. And no more code. Huzzah!
Speaking of my career, I found a posting for my dream job online yesterday. I could have qualified for it if I'd taken graphic design my first time at this college, but nooo, I wasted 2 years getting a degree in web design. What job? Well, there's this place in Seattle called the Pacific Science Center. It's one of the coolest places in all of Washington. They've got tons of incredible displays, exhibits, interactive stuff, and an awesome IMAX theater. The job was for a senior graphic designer, designing promotional material for all their shows, events, activities. Responsibilities also include photography (which I love, and am great at), and training interns. I can't imagine a more fun place to work, or a more satisfying place to design for. One of the bonus things they were looking for is someone with some experience in web design. Go figure. But alas, it cannot be til I'm out of college. Sure hope I can get a job like that when I'm done. Maybe I'll look into being one of their interns.
