GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

There are very few new games that make me clasp my hands together and cry "oh joy!". Diablo 3 is one of them. Rumours of a new Diablo game have been circulating almost since D2: Lord of Destruction however most of us were speculating about a World of Diablo MMO rather than a direct sequel.

D3 screenie

It looks just like the first two Diablo games and thats no bad thing. It's a hack 'n' slash series! I don't want amazing graphics that takes a super-computer to run. I don't want any 'innovation' that gets in the way of me sinking my sword into hordes of zombies.

Just give me huge areas to explore, bigger baddies to slay and lots of annoying 12 year old brats to humiliate. And perhaps more importantly the continuation of Diablo universe storyline.

Agree, although I understand why Blizzard is making this Diablo title a more "high tech" Diablo 2 was criticized harsly back in 2001 because it did not have 3D graphics, personally I didn't care. I just reinstalled Diablo 2 on my PC and I'm playing it from level 1. I does seems that the gameplay is pretty much the same with some added hotkeys for agility access, but other than that it looks just fine. Too bad we won't see this game till 2010 at least. Good thing Sacred 2 is coming soon to keep the dungeon crawl fans busy for a while.

I've also reinstalled Diablo 2 for a little hack 'n' slash action over the weekend with some friends. Looking forward to it, still undecided which class to go with. I do have a lot of fond memories for D2. It was my first real taste of online gaming. The premature ending of my hardcore Necromancer due to lag and the 'black wall of death' still haunts me today.
