Just an update on overclocking my computer. I got it to 4.0 and stable ...... I don't think that 4.0 is really needed for any of my games right now. So, I set it to 3.6, I will raise it, when I need too.

well if your cpu don't get over 50degree + at that Frequancy it shall not be dangerous and if you game higher then 1280x1024 WIth video card you said you ad before right ? The 4870 you could see some difference on new game such as Crisis / unreal tournament 3 / & new game from 10fps to 17fps increase that would reduce lagspike
but already at 3.6Ghz you should have noted some fps
like if you reach a game more then 120fps. it hardly gonna have any lagspike already at 60 average fps you get half of the time. no lag spike and more. then half of the time. but that just how fps work but i guess you know that anna
how ever E8400 at 4.0ghz ? STABLE never tough it would surpass the 3.8ghz average

That's real nice, Anna!! I should have to do the same, but I am in a very lack of time... Overclocking is a matter of "try and see what happens" and we do need some spare time to do this! Congratulations! ;o)

Which part are you overclocking and what's your specs? My old PC was running and 8800 GT and Q2200 Quad Core. Didn't need to overclock.

I keep my Q6700 @ 2.66GHz OCed to 3.5GHz anyway since I can see a difference in speed while browsing around and also I don't have to restart and change the speed whenever I wanna play games. Plus it seems to be stable so why not
