Danny Kaye surpasses all others in my heart, above all other greats in comedy and music alike. He had an unmatchable gift for buffoonery, even better than Lucille Ball. His talent was limitless in singing complicated songs, as evidenced by his performance of "Tchaikovsky", a little tune in which he utters the the names of nearly 50 Russian composers in such rapid-fire style in only 38 seconds' time. Even though he was not known for his dramatic acting, he certainly left some room for it in his career. There was Skokie, in which he played a World War II holocaust survivor living in the Skokie district of Chicago, known at one time for its neo-Nazi party occupation.

Danny Kaye brought everything from the imagination into real life. He is an unforgettable entertainer and his memory will live on forever.
