Honestly, Miriam McDonald has always been one of my least favorite actresses on Degrassi: The Next Generation. While she has a beautiful look I don\\\'t think she can act at all. Sometimes she will pull through and make an ok scene but usually the scenes with her end up dissapointing when looking back. One performance stuck out in particular. It was the episode, \\\"The Lexicon Of Love Pt. 2\\\", and it was near the end. It had just been revealed to Spike that Snake had cheated on her with Ms.Hatzolacos. As Snake is leaving, Emma (Miriam McDonald) steps in front of him and tries to stop him. Honestly, it was one of the most horrible scenes I\\\'ve ever seen on the show and from her. She was supposed to be upset and she wasn\\\'t even crying, her fit of sadness wasn\\\'t believable at all, and she made an awkward motion to a chair and slumped down. It was just not acted out well at all, and it seems that Miriam is slowly getting worse at acting as Degrassi goes on. I think she could be a good actress if she applied herself more but it seems to me like she\\\'s never really taking it seriously. If she was, then her scenes would come out better. All in all, she\\\'s pretty and an ok actress, but when it comes down to it, she really isn\\\'t that great!

Over the recent years, Miriams career on Degrassi blossemed into something different. She became the star of the show...Degrassi. We all know that she did start the next generation but she is overused in the fact that she is in almost every episode and has the more dramatic plots. She is also a hypocrite. Another thing, is that she's dry. I try to run a fansite about her but its sitting on hiatus because she hasn't done much since Degrassi. She's lazy IMO and she needs to get some more roles other than Emma Nelson. Mabey the world would appreciate her more?

I have lost interest, hopefully she'll improve on the acting because she's been giving lacklusters performances on the show that is not fair to actors like Deanna and Melissa that have been waiting so patiently for their turn to prove themselves to the fans. At first I did not like Emma's character at all, but once she was better developed, I can't help liking her character. She was a gawky teen at first, we was not all that smart and involved with the environment. I honestly think that Miriam McDonald has grown the most because of this show. I think she is a much more genuine actress now and I am happy that she gets the heavier story lines now. She played the STD part with Jay so well. It was completely uncharacteristic of Emma and I loved it because it proved that nobody is perfect. Miriam has definitely improved the most over the years.

She has taken on serius issues and played her role perfectly. She always captures the right emotion. One of her best epesodes was Secrets. It must have been extremely hard to do and she had these amaizing moments like the hall scene when she kissed Nate. Another amaiizing epesode was Time Stands Still, when the shooting occured. A gun was amaied at Emma (Miraiam's charactor) and she played the part perfectly. This actress defenatly deserves her own show. I love Miriam McDonald.
