He is best known for two long-running television roles: as Detective Mike Logan on Law & Order, and as "Mr. Big" on Sex and the City. Noth (pronounced to rhyme with "both"), is a name which has its origins in the European area of Alsace-Lorraine (on the border of France and Germany), where it is pronounced as "note."
