James Lafferty was born and raised in Hemet, California. James attended Hemet High School and played basketball for the Bulldogs, even earning the MVP award. He has been steadily working since the age of 6 when his mother encouraged him and his brother, Stuart Lafferty, to act as a hobby. At age ten, he received his first speaking part and, then later, a role on the short lived television series "Emeril" (2001) as Emeril Lagasse's son. James also made guest appearances as "Once and Again" (1999) (as Tad) and "Boston Public" (2000). He also had a role in the ESPN movie A Season on the Brink (2002) (TV), a basketball movie about the Indiana Hoosiers, where he was able to demonstrate his basketball skills. He graduated in 2003 from Hemet High and was enrolled at Cal State Long Beach before he received the role of "Nathan" on the WB Network's new series "One Tree Hill" (2003), filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina. Once in University, James plans on majoring in international studies.

James Lafferty one of the lead actors of one tree hill is a versatile actor. The fact that he pulls off different emotions for his character Nathan Scott who is supposedly the "mean half-brother" in season one actually made the audience hate him. And we gradually get an insight into why he is that way as the show progresses which James is able to portray really well. Around middle of season 1 we see that the reason Nathan acts all mean towards Chad's character "Lucas" is because his dad "Dan" really pressurises him to be the best and he sees Lucas as the only person who can change that. The way James portrays those confused emotions is brilliant. It gradually changes the audience's perception of his character.

In season two we see Nathan as the "better person" and a much better husband. The way he handles his personal life and friendship with his friends and half-brother Lucas makes the audience adore him.

In the show what drastically changes Nathan in becoming a better person is "Haley". The way he behaves when he is around her and around Lucas is completely different. That again is the result of good acting.

All in all I can conclude that James is not only a good actor but also very talented and original and his change of nature has really brought for him a large fan base who like him as well as respect him.

Where do I begin with James? One thing is he is amazingly talented! He has continued to prove how talented he is through his character Nathan Scott on One Tree Hill. Words that I would use to descrbe James are: talented, handsome, geniune, caring, and just an overall sweetheart. From the first time I saw James act I knew that he was going to be something great! He seems to live a life that goes beyond the aspects of hollywood fame. Even though he's on a hit TV show he's a down to earth guy and it seems that he realizes that and keeps himself grounded.

He is the youngest actor on the set of One Tree Hill, portraying Nathan Scott. He has guest starred in TV Shows like Boston Public, Emiril, First Monday, Once and Again, Get Real, and a landing role in the Teen TV Drama One Tree Hill. He has been in three movies which are A Season on the Brink, Prep, and Boys on the Run. He needs to be recognized by all the people because he is very talented and very cool. His character on One Tree Hill was a bad ass in the beginning, but then he grew up to be a very grown up father and husband...and James knew how to portray him very well. He should be known for his talent.

They have a huge fan base and I am loving the story lines that they have right now and in the past. He did an awesome job playing Nathan the jerk and now a good job playing Nathan the nice lol. (Dont mind me if I start rambleing on and on about James...... I love him so much!) James Lafferty plays Nathan Scott on the hit CW drama, One Tree Hill. He was born in Hemet, California where he grew up with one brother. He has amazing looks and a killer smile and smirk! He is an amazing actor and basketball player and has been very lucky to incorporate the two into his job. James has set up many charties around Wilmington, North Carolina where the show is set. And every year he holds a charity basketball gamewith some of his co stars to raise money for these charities. He enjoys playing basketball, karate, and playing with his dog Nino. And I had to add it in- he gave Chad and Sophia a toaster for their wedding! (Everyone awwwwwwww). Ill stop now before I write a novel... long story short, I love James Lafferty and I hope to see him take on other roles when One Tree Hill ends.

Nathan Scott attended Tree Hill High School; he is an athlete and was the star player of the Ravens basketball team.
He has an elder half brother, Lucas Scott and also has a wife, Haley James Scott & son, James Lucas Scott. His character shows nothing more than companinionship and loyalness towards his wife and basketball team as the quote about shows her, and their future is all that really matters to him! These two are ment for eachother and it would be upsetting if they were to split in future seasons! :(
