Bio

Meryl Cassie was born in South Africa where she lived with her mother Barbara Cassie, brother Miquelle Cassie, sister Megan Alatini (ex - Truebliss band member) and other sister Monique Cassie. The family emigrated to New Zealand in 1987, mainly due to apartheid.

Meryl has had acting experiences in Xena: Warrior Princess, Revelations: The Initial Journey, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys , and Shortland Street.

Meryl's acting career started at the age of 11, but she landed her starring role as Ebony on The Tribe at the age of 14 in 1999. At the start of series 4 of The Tribe Meryl started to work closly with her two sisters as Megan got the part of Java and Monique got the part as Siva. Ebony's sisters.

Meryl is a talented singer and features alot on The Tribe album Abe Messiah and Meryl sings the song at the beginning of The Tribe, The Dream Must Stay Alive. She also sings the song, Tribe Spirit at the end of The Tribe with her two sisters. She has sung the lead vocals on two albums inspired by The Tribe.
