Carly Smithson is a really wonderful artist. Despite some of the comments from Simon on "American Idol" that she didn't know who she was as a singer, she made a really big impression on me. She showed up every week doing the best she could, had a great attitude, and rocked out until she could rock no more. Her voice is very much like Kelly Clarkson's and she's very versatile in her singing in the way she can do ballads, pop, rock, and just about anything else people throw her way. Carly is an inspiration in that she was able to follow her dream to become a well known artist and I will never forget her determination and good heart. I wish her the best in her career and I cannot wait to hear her album!

I have never been this entranced and engaged by an American Idol finalist since Carrie Underwood back in the 4th season. If I can take a page from Randy Jackson's book, I would say that Carly can definitely blow! Her vocal power never ceases to amaze me - she makes singing Heart songs look so easy.

And those eyes. Oh my god, those eyes make me melt.

I was really sad when she was booted off the competition before her time, but I'm pretty sure she'll have a great career ahead of her. She's got boat loads of talent, has a great personality, and incredibly gorgeous. Who could ask for more?

A lot of people that I know don't like Carly because 1. She's not American ( but hey! She's an American citizen) and 2. She already had an album out before American Idol. Other people like Kristy Lee Cook also had albums out before American Idol so I think that's a lame reason to dislike someone. Anyway, I liked her ever since her audition and voted for her throughout Season 7 until she was eliminated. She did great on the week she was eliminated, so I was a little confused. My guess is she did great and her fans were so sure she'd be safe so they didn't vote as much as they could've. I'm glad she wasn't upset about leaving though, and was proud of how far she went because she should be proud. She'll have a good future.

Carly Smithson, a girl from Ireland, is a contestant on American Idol Season 7. I was never really a fan of hers before the top 12, but the top 12 made me change my mind about her. Her top 12 performance of Come Together was amazing, my favorite performance from her. I wanted her to come in 4th place then, but after Ramiele got eliminated, she was in my top 3. I also really liked Jesus Christ Superstar, the performance where she got eliminated from. I was surprised she got eliminated. At least she was happy when she got voted off. She's a great singer with a good future ahead of her.

I would like to see the grand finilly show in person, but I live in Georgia, so thats not going to happen. Paula really gets on my last nerve, she can't tell the bad ones that they suck, she thinks their all good and all of them are not that good. thats why I like simon he tells them like it is.

I know she will go far in American Idol. I just hope the controversies surrounding her won't dampen her hopes and spirits. This is one heck of a voice! When I first heard her on American Idol auditions in San Diego, I thought her voice was so solid and strong but she was so nervous.
Then came Hollywood week and that was where we got to see how great the range of her voice really is. She sang When I Need you and gave a great performance. But it was her revised version of Alone that convinced me of her talent. It was such a delight to listen to her sing that. Ann Wilson would be so proud! Great job, Carly!
