- After a dismal sophomore season Marco started 2008 with a bang by finishing 2nd in the season opener at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

I don't really know what happened to get me sideways but I was upside down for a long time. My mirror was broke, so I had no idea who was outside me, whoever it was. I think it might have been Dan (Wheldon). I apologize. It's just one of those days where I lost the balance. It rained, we went out, and I was nowhere.
- Marco: (on road courses) I love road courses. More than five (on our schedule) would be great. Maybe less of those bigger, bigger ovals, but short ovals and big ovals are part of it as well.
- Gil de Ferran: I think Marco is one of the bright young stars. He has shown tremendous potential at an early age. The people he's racing against are very good. We would be remiss if we weren't looking at promising talent from around the world. Marco is with a great team here in IndyCar and is focused on winning over here, that's the target right now. He's one of the bright young talents and we would not be doing our job if we weren't paying attention to who is coming up.
- Marco: (on his 2nd F1 test with Honda in February 2007) It's been awesome to have the chance to get back in a F1 car this week and I would really like to thank the Honda team for giving me this second opportunity. I have really enjoyed my two days here, and by the end of the second day with the wet conditions, I feel that I've really adapted to the way that the car has to be driven. So the weather was actually quite useful for me and I've now experienced a little bit of everything in only three days. I was happy with my long run pace over the test but the one lap times are something that I am sure would come with further time in the car.
- Gil de Ferran: (the Sporting Director at the Honda Racing F1 Team, on inviting Marco back for a 2nd test in Feb 2007) We were impressed with Marco during his first test with our team and he performed well in the short time he had in the car. Given the potential that he has demonstrated and the availability of last year's RA106, we saw Jerez as a great opportunity to put him back in the car. We look forward to seeing his progress with a more specific programme.
- Marco: (delighted with being asked to test a Honda F1 car again in February 2007) I am obviously very pleased to have been invited back for a second test with the Honda Racing F1 Team. I felt that I did a good job in December but on the first day you spend more time getting used to the car and familiarising yourself with the circuit. When I get in the car this time, I am sure I will be able to hit the ground running. I'm looking forward to it.
- Gil de Ferran: (Honda Racing F1 Team Sporting Director) He [Marco] did a good job and acclimatised himself well to the unfamiliar surroundings in the very short time that a one-day test provides. Marco looked comfortable straight away with the car and the track and overall it was a good first experience in a Formula One car.
- Marco: (after testing a Honda F1 car in Jerez, Spain) I couldn't have had more fun today. It's a shame that it was only a day. It took me a while to get used to the traction control and the brakes but once I got to grips with them, the times were more and more consistent.
- Marco: (during a 3-day F1 test in December 2006) To win the world championship in Formula One is the thing I desire the most. In a perfect world, with the last two years of my contract with Dad, I would like to win the Indy 500 and then come to Europe.
- Gil de Ferran: (Honda Racing F1 Team Sporting Director, on offering Marco Andretti a F1 test) We are delighted to have Marco join us in Jerez next week for his first run in a Formula One car. Marco has had an outstanding first season in the IndyCar Series, making a big impact at such a young age. As part of the extended Honda Racing family, it will be a great pleasure for us to give him the chance of his first experience of Formula One.
- Marco: (on being offered a test in a Honda F1 car) I am thrilled that Honda has offered me this incredible opportunity. 2006 was a fantastic inaugural year for me in the IRL and I look forward to fighting for the championship next season. However, as you would expect of any racing driver, when Honda offered me the chance to drive, I grabbed it with both hands - no hesitation! I can only imagine what an awesome experience this is going to be and I'm just going to take my time and enjoy every moment.
- Marco: It’s always exciting being at Indy. Just being at this track is awesome. I love the track. I love the city. I love everything about it.
- Marco: I know I have a lot of shots left, but you have to learn from my dad's career that you have to take advantage of every one of them. Man, I don't want to wait for next year.
- Marco: I can't complain, I almost won the Indy 500 my first year in it. It's just the way as a competitor, I don't want to finish second. I don't want to wait until next year. I wish it was this year.
- Marco: Woulda, coulda, shoulda... second place is nothing. Nobody remembers who finished second here (Indianapolis).
- Marco: I drove anything with wheels when I was a little kid - mopeds, bicycles, go-karts, ATVs. It just seemed natural.
- Marco: I plan on being a sponge all year and see how quickly we can adapt. I can't imagine doing this from Nazareth.
- Marco: It's my first feel for running in traffic. You have to get the feel for losing down force and play with that. Nothing at all has surprised me so far. We just have to learn to play in traffic.
- Marco: I'm learning who I can trust and who I can't. I can't believe he did that to me. He turned right into me with the right front (wheel). Now I've been Cheever-ed.
- Marco: You definitely have to respect this place, as we learned in the past with my father and my grandfather – both had a lot of unfortunate luck here.
- Marco: (on the signing of Danica Patrick) I think this team is continuing to make awesome calls, and this is a good one. I think it's great for the future of our team. If you bring a name like that, it's only going to be better. It's not only the name. She's a darned good driver. I'm happy that she's coming to the team. I think she's going to contribute and make it better.
- Marco: (about Danica Patrick) No way I'm going to let up on her. She's definitely not going to be letting up on us. She's very competitive and she's had some awesome finishes the last couple races. I think we're going to race each other like teammates.
- Marco: (on his future with Formula One) It's definitely in the back of my mind. I've always wanted to conquer the [F1] championship. But if I was over there right now, I think I would regret not trying to win the Indy 500. We came so close this year, so it would be nice to do that within the next couple of years.
- Marco: (asked if he has become Marco Andretti or is still the grandson of Mario and the son of Michael) I hope I've become my own name. But I definitely have a lot more work to do to be in their category. I didn't know at the beginning of the season how I would stack up. I'm definitely happy I'm able to run with these guys. Next year we'll come back with a ton more knowledge and we can go for a championship.
- Marco Andretti: I think, number one, you just have to have it (natural Talent), especially at this level. But in this sport, you can't be taught. You know, there's a lot to be learned, but the base, you just can't be taught. You're either going to have it or you don't.
- (about Marco) Michael Andretti: He's way ahead of where I was at 19. I think his biggest asset (is) that he has what I know I didn't have, or my father, is patience. He just drives with a lot of patience, but yet a lot of aggression. That's a great quality.
