Rick DiPietro was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts to his parents Cheryl and Rick Sr., and also has a younger brother Alex. Rick as of 2006 is a goalie for the New York Islanders hockey club, and signed a 15 year deal, making him an Islander for the rest of his hockey career. He also acted as a goalie to Team USA in the Winter 2006 Olympics.
