- Aqua is in the Guinness Book of Records for being the most successful Danish band ever.
- Aqua did the soundtrack to the movie Turn Back Time a soundtrack that became an even greater hit than Barbie Girl.
- Aqua released two albums; Aquarium in 1997 and Aquarius in 2000.
- Aqua got the idea for their band name from a poster for an aquarium hanging in Søren's wardrobe.
- Aqua changed their name from Joyspeed to Aqua in 1996 when their single "Itsy Bitsy" had failed. They changed their whole concept including manager and record company.
- Lene used to date René when Aqua were still a new band. Later she broke up with René and started dating Søren who she later married. The marriage of Lene and Søren was believed to be the reason behind the breakup of Aqua, a rumor the group has always denied.
- Lene and Søren are married. They have two children together; a girl named India born in 2005 and a boy born in 2006 named Billy.
- In 2001 Aqua were working on material for their third album but in July 2001 the group announced that they were going to be going their separate ways but they said they were still friends. The split was a shock to many fans who hadn't seen this coming.
- One of Aqua's most known songs "Barbie Girl" caused great controversy with the Mattel company when they filed a lawsuit against the group for "stealing" their brand. The lawsuit was was finally rejected in 2002.
