Ian Corlett is quiet and seems to keep to himself and his family, rather than bask in the adulation of fans. I can't say I know where this negative impression of him comes from, as he is well-respected in his field, has kids of his own to take care of (how could he hate kids when he is constantly doing voices in kids' cartoons and has two of his own?), and simply seems to understand that voice acting is a JOB. He does not appear to curry a reputation with those in his field as someone who can be walked on--he expects a fair day's pay for his work. Even when he left the role of Goku he stayed with the project for some time afterward. He is multi-talented and in the more serious shows he has done, bonded with his fellows and produced a startling array of emotion through his characters (I speak here mostly of his work with Beast Machines and Beast Wars). He has never left a show without good reason, so far as research and interviews can tell us. He created an award-winning show (Yvon of the Yukon), wrote music for a fan-favorite (What's with Andy?), and pushed quite a few boundaries with Being Ian, including reversing American-Canadian stereotypes and just plain making fun of the entertainment business--including its nastier edge. I am shocked at the kind of mean-spirited reviews I find on him, particularly when one takes into the account the fact that he REFUSED to read for Futurama roles so that Billy West and co. could renegotiate THEIR contracts for more money. Considering that Ian has the range for many of Billy West's characters, this fact appears to run counter-intuitive to any allegations of greed. Before you speak ill of a professional and a family man, perhaps you ought to do your homework.

Greedy, Talentless, pathetic, hates kids, looooooooooves money more than anyone and anything, weak, and just plain not good. When he plays Taz, he sounds like he got hit in the brain which is even worse combined with Nicktoons Network and Cartoon Network cheesy scripts. If I was a millionare, I'd pay CN to fire all the new voices except for Billy West since he's actually good and since Mel Blanc is gone. Jeff Bennett(Yosanity Sam) and Will Ryan(Baby Bear) are good but not as good as the old ones. Beat it Ian, we hate you.

So, he starred in Sonic Underground, Sonic the Hedgehog AND ReBoot. So, what's so special about that?
Bite your tongue. In Sonic Underground, he played Knuckles, and he did so very well. Especially when it came to the episode, "Chaos Emerald Crisis". He also stayed true to the facts about Knuckles that were brought out through history and video games. That was noteworthy.
In ReBoot, his starring role, Glitch Bob was a great success. His voice lead viewers to feel more comfortable about the character and the situation he was in (he did a great job in "Null Bot of the Bride" and "Crouching Binome, Hidde Virus".)
Obviously, this actor has starred in popular series (many of which I love) and he is an actor that definitely deserves recognition.
