B.D. Wong was born and raised in San Francisco, CA, USA. Wong made his Broadway debut in 'M. Butterfly'. He is the only actor to be honored with the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, Clarence Derwent Award, and Theater World Award for the same performance.
His early TV appearances include staring 'All American Girl', and has guest appearances on 'Sesame Street' and 'The X-Files'. To date, Wong's most recongisable performances are as Father Ray Mukada in 'Oz' and Dr George Huang in 'SVU'.
An openly gay actor, Wong with ex partner Richie Jackson became fathers of twins Boaz Dov Wong and Jackson Foo Wong born January 28 2000. Sadly, Boaz Dov has since died.
