Emily Procter was born in 1968 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
While she was studying Journalism and Dance at East Carolina University, she got a job as a weather anchor for the local NBC affiliate, WNCT. Procter soon moved and began acting in various television comedies and dramas. Her break into films came with a lead role opposite David Schwimmer in HBO's "Breast Men." She also starred opposite Leslie Nielsen in The Family Plan. Since then she has come into "The West Wing" as Ainsley Hayes, a gorgeous conservative Republican that the President hired her for an Associate Counsel's position on his staff. Her role is recurring.
She is now starring in the hit CBS drama CSI:MIAMI opposite David Caruso.
