Alyssa's acting career began at age 4. She has enjoyed participating in music videos, industrials, shorts, independents, feature films, commercials and plays. She has also enjoyed filming on the Barney & Friends TV show several times. She has participated in a music video for the group 54 Seconds with lead singer Spencer Gibb, son of Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees (which won Best Music Video for the 2004 SXSW film and music festival). She also appeared as Miranda in a feature film called Hanging which won first place at the 2003 Gene Siskel 72 hour Film Festival in Chicago, Illinois. Alyssa spends her extra time practicing her violin, acting, modeling, ballet, and tap and having fun with other homeschooling families. She has one sister who is also an actress, Amanda Petersen.
