I mean, this is the guy who created The Simpsons and Futurama, the two best shows ever made. What more can I say? The man is a genius. His shows have always been so hilarious, so original, and so unique. He's also created some of the most memorable characters in television history. Homer Simpson, Bart Simpson, Marge Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Montgomery Burns, Ralph Wiggum, Barney Gumble, Moe Szyslak, Chief Wiggum, Phillip J. Fry, Turanga Leela, Bender Rodríguez, Professor Farnsworth, Dr. Zoidberg, Zapp Brannigan, the list goes on and on. Many people like Seth MacFarlane or Butch Hartman have attempted to copy the TV king. Give it up guys. You'll never be Matt Groening.

Matt Groening is a brilliant man. He created The Simpsons! That show has gone on to produce 19-plus seasons of episodes. I'll admit, I don't like the newer episodes neraly as much as the stuff in the 90's, but I'll cut him some slack, because it's hard to stay on top forever. It's not even all his fault. What was his fault, in a good way, is the creation of all The Simpsons characters that many know and love. The only reason I don't give him a 10, is because I'm not a fan of any of his other stuff. Futurama is a terrible show! I'm also not familiar with any of his other stuff, which did not cost him the -0.1.

Groening was born on February 15, 1954 in Portland, Oregon USA. He grew up in Portland,the middle child of five children. His mother, Margaret Wiggum, was once a teacher, and his father, Homer Philip Groening, was a filmmaker, advertiser, writer and cartoonist. Groening storyboarded and scripted every short (now known as The Simpsons shorts), which were then animated by a team including David Silverman and Wes Archer, both of whom would later become directors on the series. The shorts premiered on The Tracey Ullman show on April 19, 1987.

He is my hero. he has influenced my style to. He's a great cartoonist. You can't help but love him and his style of comedy.

Matt Groening was born Matthew Abram Groening on February 15, 1954 in Portland, Oregon to Homer and Margaret Groening. He also has two sisters Lisa and Maggie Groening. In the mid '80s, he launched a well-known comic strip called Life In Hell. In 1987, he married Deborah Caplan, they have two sons: Homer(born 1991) and Abe(1993). On 1988, he and James L. Brooks launced The Simpsons on The Tracy Ullman Show as a short sketch. Matt says his name is pronounced like "graining", and not "groaning". In 1999, he created another popular animated program called Futurama. That same year, he divorced his wife Deborah Caplan. Matt says he took Bart Simpson's first name from "brat", what Matt considered himself like. Matt and Bart are also left-handed. I think Mat Groening came up with an awesome idea for people to love and watch.

His drawing and writting is so clever! He is such a famous man, behind one of the most famous cartoons ever made. I haven't even read the comic he's made. It does look cool. Yet more of his creations are getting better, i don't know how many episodes the Simpsons will reach! Most members of his family have the same names as the Simpsons characters. He is so smart. Matt Groening rocks!

Giving him a 10 may still be a bit high. He did indeed create my all-time favorite show The Simpsons, but he doesn't do much with the show anymore. He makes MILLIONS of dollars a year I'm sure, but he doesn't do much on the show anymore. He's written only a few episodes, and isn't that involved with the show. He does DVD commentaries, though, which is cool. Matt Groening is still definitely the man. Just for creating The Simpsons and Futurama alone make him the best cartoonist of all-time. He knows what funny and creative is, and that's what makes him so kick ass.
