In 1981 I had the pleasure of working with Debbie Lee Carrington. She was an Ewok in the movie "Return of the Jedi," which was shot on location in various places including Arizona, the United Kingdom and Smith River California. Many of the actors who work as Ewoks had to be lifted up and/or carried from point to point while in the Redwood forest. They had difficulty seeing out of their costumes and would trip over ferns, fallen branches, tree roots and each other during production. Despite the difficulties with the visibility from the costumes and their cumbersome fit, Debbie did many of her own stunts and managed to evoke laughter and comradery among the cast and crew.
