Bio

Andrew Alcott Hallett was born on August 4th, 1975 on the small Cape Cod town of Osterville. He attended Barnstable High School and then majored in Business with an emphasis on Management Marketing at Assumption College in Worcester. Despite his characters outgoing persona, Andy was very shy and never sang until Patti LaBelle invited him onstage at a concert at Harborlights in Boston. Patti's praise boosted his confidence and Andy decided to sing more often.

After moving to Los Angeles, Andy held numerous jobs such as a property manager, personal assistant, and a runner for The Radmin Agency. He even landed a few non-speaking roles in a couple of commercials. Then Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, saw Andy sing in a Universal City Blues revue called BB King's and conceived the part of the Host. Months later Joss approached Andy in an airport and offered him his first big time acting position as "The Host" (Lorne) on Angel. Ironically, his agent did not sign him until after his first episode.

Andy guest-starred in numerous episodes throughout season two and three of Angel and became a regular in seasons four and five.

Andy died in 2009, at the age of 33, from congestive heart failure.
