Chris went to Atlanta International School or AIS to study drama. While there, he played Romeo in Shakespeare's famous play, Romeo and Juliet. He studied drama in the University of Southern California. He likes go out to the cinema with his friends.

He is best known for his role on the short-lived ABC drama, Life As We Know It. He was offered this role when the casting director spotted him playing beach volleyball. In 2006, he got a role in the teenage crime solving TV show, Veronica Mars.

In 2007, Lowell became part of the ensemble cast of the ABC spin-off of Grey's Anatomy called Private Practice.
