Bio
Wes Anderson was born Wesley Wales Anderson in Houston, Texas on May 1, 1969. His parents are Melver Leonard Anderson and Texas Ann Burroughs. His father worked in advertising, and his mother was an archaeologist. He is the second child in a family of three boys. He completed his 13-year sequence of college preparatory training at St. John's School in Houston, and then studied philosophy at the University of Texas. It was at University where he met his film and writing partner Owen Wilson. Together, they created the 14-minute short-film, Bottle Rocket (1994). They then received help from producer James L. Brooks to get their short film into Sundance, and to secure the needed funding to create the full-length feature film, Bottle Rocket (1996). Currently, he is residing in New York, and has a home in Los Angeles.
