- Robert Donat was married twice. His first marriage was to Ella Annesley Voyesy and lasted from 1929 to 1946, producing three children. Mr.Donat's second marriage was to Renee Asherson and lasted from 1953 until his death in 1958.
- Robert Donat was the favorite actor of fellow British thespian Peter Sellers. Sellers was known to have commented that he thought Bob Donat was a god.
