Bob Barker and The Price is Right - inseparable in most people's minds... yet I find a huge gap between them. I cannot fathom the concept of watching individuals winning prizes for guessing prices on items, when there are no absolutes on prices - week to week, location to location. It's a silly show, forgettable, with nothing to learn, test or trully entertain. Still, there was Bob Barker. this man made it work. He was a master of being entertaining without being flamboyant, a comedian or a social firebrand. He took the simple dynamics of casual politeness and showmanship and became nearly mesmerizing. Hardly ever yelling but always clear to hear. Though polite, he never seemed prudish or a bore. He didn't make the events of the show bigger than life, but he found a way to treat each participant with respect without coming across as condescending. Whatever behind-the-scenes hoopla or personal problems he experienced, the series felt none whatsoever. A true master, there was a zen to his act.

Bob Barker is an inspirational man who shows great passion for the entertainment business than anyone that I know. What is even more remarkable is how everyone adores him and appreciates him everytime he walks on to the stage of the Price is Right. Bob has given over 10,000 cars and more then 800,000 prizes in his illustrious career. When Bob Barker retires in June it will be very heartbreaking but also happy for he has given us 35 years of television that will be cherished for many years to come. Bob Barker has had many memorable moments but I believe the greatest moment is when he walks on to the Price is Right stage for the last time in his career.

How many TV gameshows have been on for 35 yrs and a guarenteed 36th year, oh that's "right", the Price is Right that is. The second place contender is nearly 10 years behind, that being Wheel of Fortune I believe, it could be Jeopardy! Although I'm only 17, Bob Barker has surely done an amazing job with the show for the last 35yrs, it's so sad that he's leaving the show. His final show will be one of the sadest shows in television history as well. Let's all hope that the new host does a great job and can take the show another 35 years! The Price is Right deserves a rating of 100/10, it's just amazing and I absolutely LOVE IT!!!

Bob Barker will definately go down in history as one of the greatest stars of all time, as well as one of the best game show hosts (The Price is Right). Bob, I'm sure, is a role model to many people who watch The Price is Right or see him on certain documentaries or news stations. I enjoy seeing him at 11 a.m. on CBS, especially with his phrase at the end about animal rights. His seventeen Emmy awards show how excellent of a person he truly is. His legacy will continue even after his retirement from The Price is Right.

However, don't take advantage of me because I will beat the guts out of you type of guy, like old-school parents would do. I have watched Bob Barker on TV longer than any other celebrity. He may be in his 80's, but he looks better than ever, especially for his age. I've adored him for many years. The biggest encounter I've had with him was when he sent me an autographed photo of himself. He wrote on it "To Gregory - I wish you the very best" with his signature as well. It has been a lifetime dream to meet him. I hope to meet him within a few years. Unfortunately, I'm a few years too young to go on the Price is Right right now. If I were to meet him, I'd think that I was hallucinating.
