Gordie Howe is a great hockey player. That's that. But the most respectable thing is that he could do everything. Goals, points, fights, durability. Until Wayne Gretzky came and took the hockey world by storm, Gordie was the undisputed king. To this very day he still holds many records. Probably the most notable acheivement of his carrer is his games played record, showing true ironmanship. For years he also held the record for most goals, assists and points in an NHL carrer. Over 40 years later he is still 2nd in all of those categories. He also lived in a tough era. There were only 6 teams. About 120 players. Unlike now when players make about a million dollars a game, hockey players had it tough (for a signing bonus he got a team jacket) Truely, he's Mr. Hockey.
