Michael Rymer is a director and writer noted for his frequent work on the Sci Fi Channel series Battlestar Galactica. He has directed the acclaimed 2003 miniseries as well as many other episodes of the series. He was given a producing credit beginning with Season 3.

Rymer was born in Melbourne, Australia, but he attended film school in California, at the famed school of the University of Southern California where he won a directing scholarship in 1987.
