Tchéky Karyo is one of France's most famous and well-loved actors - though he was actually born in Turkey. He moved to Paris, France at a young age and studied drama in Cyrano Theatre and became a member of the Daniel Sorano Company and the National Theater of Strasbourg. He became known for Shakespearan and Classical roles on stage.

Besides his popularity in France, Karyo has also appeared in such international films as "La Femme Nikita", "1492: Conquest of Paradise", "GoldenEye", "Wing Commander", and "The Patriot". He speaks numerous foreign languages (including English, German, and Italian). He currently resides in Los Angeles.
