Deryck Whibley was born March 11, 1980. Deryck was inspired when he first went to his first concert, The Monkees, to pursue his rock star dream. While growing up, more of his influences were Elvis Costello and SoCal punk bands. His position in the band "Sum 41" are vocals and guitar. When Deryck aka Bizzy D was younger he used to rap to his mom, whose name is Michelle, for a dollar. In person Deryck is a very shy person, but that all changes when he gets on the mic, as he states "he's known to rock a mic like a king with a crown". At the age of 11 Deryck was known as a champion "recess fighter". Deryck grew up in many differet places, but he was born in Scarborough, Canada. After Deryck and his mother decided to leave and go off to a different setting, he moved to the small town of Keane. Deciding to move to yet another setting, Deryck and his mother moved to Ajax. While Deryck was there he picked up a guitar and learned to play.In the year of 1996, Deryck met a drummer by the named of Steve Jocz, and that's where the first two Sums of Sum 41 began.
