I'm not to sure about Tom Wellings acting ability, I've only seen him in one show so far. I would like to see him test his skills by being cast in different roles, maybe his creditiablity will be more striking then. He is a gorgeous guy but that's all you can be impressed about. I'm not really a fan of Smallville, after all its kind of far fetched having such OLD looking actors play such young characters. I've watched more than one episode in which Welling's afternoon shadow (beard) was starting to come in, granted some high schoolers do shave but do most of them look this aged???

This guy has what it takes to be the on-screen Superman for at least the next 5-6 years to come. He's a great actor from what I've seen on Smallville. Although his performances outside Smallville haven't really been up to the mark, but he is the best suited guy to pull off a Superman, and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind being stereotyped as the next superhero from Krypton.
He has that face, that build, those looks, and that body language that suit up to the requirement of the on-screen Clark Kent, and Superman. He's been fantafabulous in Smallville, and I'm sure I'm amongst many who think the same.

I will be honest: I just started to see Smallville because of Tom Welling. I'm a superheroes' fan: I love Spiderman, superman, batman and many others heroes. But when I saw Tom Welling as Clark Kent, it just joined two things that I love: A Great TV series and a charming, handsome actor!!! His blue eyes hypnotized me and I started to see the show. But Tom Welling it's not just a pretty face, he is a gorgeous actor as well. He is perfect as Clark and I hope that, after Smallville, he would do another show or movie, because I really want to see his perfect face and performance. He is just gorgeous!!!! There aren't enough words to describe him! He is WoNdErFuL!!!!!!!

Tom Welling is totally cool as an actor. Maybe he will never suit any other role but Clark because he has played this role for a long time. Either way i hope he continues to do so for another 5 years or more.
Tom has made Cheaper than the douzen Movie part1 and 2. He's also made the Fog movie. Maybe with time we can all see him play meatier roles. Only time will tell.

Tom Welling was born Thomas John Patrick Welling on April 26, 1977 in New York City. He grew up with five other siblings. At the age 18, Tom graduated Okemos High School. He skipped going to college and got jobs such as: modeling and a construction worker. One day, he was noticed and asked if he would like to play Clark Kent on Smallville, he turned down twice before accepting the offer. He also landed a character in Cheaper by the Dozen, Charlie Baker starring Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt. On July 5, 2002, he married Jamie White, a close friend of Tom Welling. I hope to continue to see Tom play many roles including Clark Kent on Smallville.

He is something to look at, not for me, but my friend is obsessed with him, but his looks. I looked at the ratings for him and a lot of people gave him a 10. but mostly cause how cute he is not his acting.

He was cast in series Smallville after a nationwide search for the actor to play Clark Kent. Smallville explored the early years of Clark growing up in the times before he becomes Superman. The Pilot aired in October of 2001 and became the highest rated debut for The WB, with 8.4 million viewers. He told TV Guide that he originally turned down the lead role twice, but after reading the script, decided to take the job. He was named one of People magazine's Breakthrough Stars of 2001 and also won the Teen Choice Award as Choice Breakout Star (Male) in 2002 for his role as Clark.The 100th episode of Smallville aired in January of 2006 and the series is currently in its seventh season. In December 2003, Welling played Charlie Baker, the oldest son in a family of 12 children in the film Cheaper by the Dozen, a remake of the 1950 original. The film also starred Steve Martin and Hilary Duff. In 2005 Welling appeared in two other films as well. He played Nick Castle in The Fog which was a remake of John Carpenter's 1980 film. He also reprised his role as Charlie Baker in Cheaper by the Dozen 2. Despite internet rumors, Welling was not considered for the part of Superman in the 2006 film Superman Returns. Welling also marked his directorial debut in 2006, with the season five episode of Smallville, Fragile. He directed a second episode during season six - Hydro. In April 2007, it was reported that Welling had signed on for an 8th season of Smallville. However, no formal announcement has been made.
