I think there has always been a time or two when you might have wonder what a certain noise or two was in your residence.

This film to me is another one of the best suprises I've seen and to me one of the best horror films I've seen in this decade in my book anyway. The technique isn't really anything new, the good news is there is very little shaky cam so you won't feel nausha, though I did feel a tiny bit mainly when the camera moved in some places but it was a small feeling that passed. However what made this film work was in it's execution and it made what I was seeing feel almost frightingly real. The way the presence of the unseen demon entity was handled was sort of like a flame climbing it's way on a fuse just to get to the dinamite. At first it starts out small but then when things escalate it will turn you blood cold. It doesn't feature many to no special effects and that's a great thing because it just made it all the more scarier, it was the little things that were all the more big. I'll admit I could help but get chills just seeing certain things like lights turning on, the door moving, though what really did it for me was one moment when the audience and I jump when we heard a demonic cry and just like the two charcter I was thinking the same thing "What the frak was that?!" And I actually jumped a few times in this movie and that's a great feeling I don't get much.

The young couple I thought were good characters
the actors that played them were good (further note both weren't even actors at the time)
because they actually felt like real people, they were likeable and empathetic because the relationship they have is similar to any typical romantic relationship I had there is the humor, conversations, making out, and anything else you can think of. There is even some depth to the characters so we do know them, I like how we see that Katie has had some experence in the past with the unseen demon. Which made them all the more sypathetic, we don't want anything bad to happen to them but it does and there isn't anything you can do about it. It's the kind of suspense where you have an idea about the fate of the couple but you don't know how.

And it's sad seeing how the insident is affecting their relationship because it is taking it's toll on them psychologically, their relationship use to be healthy but now it disentigrates a bit as things escalate. The ending I won't tell you but it one of the scarest endings I've seen in my book, it's one you won't forget.

"Paranomal Activity" will give you another reason to be afraid of the dark.
