Interesting title for a poorly made movie. This movie is really silly and has of course the usual hollywood ending. Heigl plays a tv producer who needs rating. The station brings in butler as the over the top male guy who helps the show gets ratings. Yes he is way over the top with his comments and for some reason people like him. He tries to help her get a bf so that he can do whatever he wants to on his show. Of course he helps her get her man and in the end he ends up falling for her. Sorry for "revealing" the ending but half way thru the movie its obvious how the movie will end. The acting in this movie is average at well and the movie itself is poorly done. Even the audience will grown after watching this movie. I would suggest skipping this movie unless you have nothing to do. The awful truth is the perfect title for an awful movie horrible..

I will give it to this movie I was not expecting this to be very good at all but hey im wrong ,the ugly thruth wasnt so ugly after all I liked it kept me tuned in all the way through and made me laugh a few times maybe I just like Gerad butler...
