Great movie but I felt Wall.E was better. The death of Muntz actually caught me off guard. That was indeed surprising. The emotional scenes and the comedy was done pretty well but sometimes it felt stationary.

Pixar never ceizes to amaze me, and I will say that "Up" is a new favoarate of mine but it's also one of my favorate films in general.

Everything in this film is great and done right, the animation as usual is excenlent I really loved seeing the detail on the vast amount of ballons, that jungle as well as human characters. Like Carl whom looks like he could be an elderly version of one of those characters from the NES video game "River City Randsom" (I know wild comparsion but play the game and it will make sense). But most of all I feel what really powers this film as usual with Pixar movies is in characterization and content. The film wasn't just fun and funny but it was also one of the most emotional I've seen. In a way the film reminded me a little of the film "Bubba Ho Tep" which delt with the same concept. Carl brillantly played by one of my favorate actors Edward Asner is a character you can't help but feel heavy pathos for.

Not just in the knowlege he is in the twilight of his life but also dealing with the loss of his recently deceised wife Elle. The romance between the two is beautifully depicted in a montage at the begining of the movie that emotionally grabed me. There are dynamics in this film like the relationship between both Carl and the kid which I found both funny but also emotionally touching at the same time. Because in a way it's not just the old and young, experence and inexpernce reationship but it's a Grandfather and Grandson relationship; the kid is the grandson Carl never had and Carl to the kid is the male figure he is missing in his life.

There is also this contrasting parallel dynamic between Carl and the bad guy. Both are in the twilight of their lives and are trying to find meaning in them. The main bad guy (played by Christopher Plummer)whom was Carl's hero one time and asspired himself to be is a long forgoten explorer he has for a long time hunted down a rare animal just to reclaim his lost fame. The cost of this has unfortunately made him alone, out of touch with the times and reality and crazy a little too much isolation and jungle. So he has became a prisoner to his own desires.

While Carl has never had the adventure he wanted because his desires were always on hold, and he feels that his life isn't amounting to anything; but he is the true adventruer in this story. One scene in the film I'll never forget is when Carl looks in that adventure book album he's had for a long time and then finds the pages that were long empty were filled with his life with Elle that was his true adventure all along Elle. I'll admit that part put tears in my eyes.

"Up" takes to the skies and beyond.

Looks like pixiar does it again with up. This is a really well dont movie thats for sure. It has some pretty funny cotent in it I must say. Look all pixiar movies are must sees but this is like for sure. Must watch!!!
