Its Romeo and Juliet meets Dracula. The film is extremely dark and cold. This is a prequel and not nearly as entertaining as the first 2 films.
Kate Beckensale is sorely missing and her absence cannot be replaced. Unfortanetly this is just a slaughter fest horror flick.

This is a really good movie but I would have to say that out of all three of them, it was my least favorite. One reason is that I think guns are more fitting than swords but that's just me. If you are reading this, then of course you know its the origins of the Lycans and it is from their point of view. No more viewing the Lycans as the bad guys; it just shows how the war started between the Vampires and Lycans and doesn't view one as either good or bad. Th plot revolving around forbidden love is simple yet effective. There is a good amount of action and merciless killings to keep your attention. Of course it is a must for Underworld fans and supernatural movie fans alike.

Love and revenge against the vampire overlords brings war. Another very simple storyline at heart but a well developed film with meaning and lots of brutality. The Lycans were developed from a werewolf who so happens to have a human offspring....

Love and revenge against the vampire overlords brings war. Another very simple storyline at heart but a well developed film with meaning and lots of brutality. The Lycans were developed from a werewolf who so happens to have a human offspring. This new half breed which is stronger and more intelligent and less raw than the traditional werewolf was created as a slave force. However as it always goes with slaves in all paths, is that they will revolt.

As soon as the forbidden love is discovered the little cross-plot spawns, revenge comes swift in the form of a werewolf-Lycan army. So the dark scenes has body-parts and blood crawling every inch of the set and before you know it, that is it. It's back to the end of where Underworld 2 started, which is back in the future. It kind of points of a 4th possible film, but one will have to wait and see.

It answers questions and yet it leaves open the telling future stories Lycan or stay in the present with Selene.

I loved this movie, for me it was the best in the trilogy. Another thing to note, this is the most, weldone prequel I have scene. It creates no continuity problems and gives us a clear showing of how the war began. If you're a fan of the franchise or just want to see a great film with vampires and werewolfs, be sure to see this on the big screen
