I'm not sure if the movie knew what it wanted to be, a humorous buddy movie, ala Odd Couple, or a drama with deep examinations of the inner workings and growth of people from one stage to the next. Trying to be both made the movie slow at points and shallow at others. Still, it was a tear jerker, and some of the philosophical ramblings were insightful, and I was enthralled with the chemistry between the two main characters.

On my flight back from Auckland, I watched "The Bucket List". It's very much one of those synopsis movies, in that, once you've read the synopsis of the film, you pretty much know how the movie is going to pan out.

Two old men from different walks of life decide to do all the things they wished they done in their life before they die. They do it all and discover things about themselves, and the meaning of friendship, blah blah blah.

Not exactly genre defining but a pleasant enough film to help pass the time during a flight or on a rainy day. Worth watching if you've got nothing better to do. Three stars.

I must say that this is a film that everyone should see. It has a very good story, many funny scenes and a strong messege. The ending is just touching. Watch it...

Funny how race played in this movie. The white guy had all the money and the black guy had hardly any. The rich white guy lives a tad bit longer because of his cash. Black guy has loving wife while white guy only has money and assistant who wanted his money. An interesting spin on life. Funny thing when you see 2 old people jumping from planes and screaming all the way down! lol
