The movie had several phases of sorts: first funny and obnoxious, then the moment of growth and responsibility. After that seemed to start a completely new era: revelations of past, the question "who am I?" and "where do I belong?" becoming apparent.

By the end of the movie it seemed the humor was pushed down a little and gave way to seriousness.

In the final scene of action, I wasn't completely certain of what was really going on, and what was happening to whom and because of what.

All in all, I couldn't quite grasp Will Smith in this role. I don't know why. The movie looks good, sounds good, and has all the proper elements. The acting isn't bad either.

Hancock is pretty good. Its pretty funny and has a decent story which makes it worth watching it. Sure, Its not as good as other smith titles, But its still full of decenty so if you want a Will Smith movie that takes a break from drama go out...

After all the hype leading up to this movie I thought I would not enjoy it so much. I was wrong because this movie delivered. I love the theme of the show - the lonely hero. I think the back story provided from Charlize Theron's character was pretty interesting even if it was unnecessary for this film. I love Super Hero movies and this movie brought something new to the table. Here's to hoping for a sequel.

Hancock is a movie about a drunkard hero without a home with an unclear past. Will Smith, Charlize Theron, and Jason Bateman were all cast perfectly for their parts. Smith comes across as a funny anti-hero, Bateman as a kind of dorky PR agent, and Theron as an ice-cold mystery. I agree and disagree with some things other critics and reviewers have said. I agree that the first two-thirds of the movie is great and I agree that the main villain is stupid. Most reviewers, however, take a huge dump on the story, specifically "The Twist." "The Twist" is not as bad as so many people suggest. I understand that it adds more questions but it also answers some. It was a good move in my opinion and ready for Hancock 2.
