OK, I guess, but sorely lacking the charm and comedy of the first one. Don't know why they waited this long to make a sequel and still manage to come up with a disappointment. The actors were OK, the biggest let-down is the script.

I guess hollywood has run out of ideas because they are making sequels to movies that came out many years ago. Lost boys 2 is an obvious sequel to the original lost boy movie. The main character is a surfer who comes to a town and when he arrives little by little he finds out there are vampires there. The lead vampire takes a liking to the surfer's sister so the surfer has to try to join the tribe to get his sister away. Yes the cast is young and they look good but lets be hoenst here how much material is here. Not much and they bring back feldman even though his character was a minor character in the original movie. Basically they join forces to get rid of the vampires and then its over. The ending is interesting in the fact that they obviously are going to make another sequel. This is not a bad movie but there is not much here. Get it if you have nothing better to do.

Let me begin by saying that I am a huge fan of the original Lost Boys movie. In fact, I consider Lost Boys to be one of my favorite movies of all time. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that they were coming out with a Lost Boys 2 and my anticipation continued to grow even after I heard that almost nobody from the first movie would be in the second movie. Then I heard that that it wouldn’t be a direct sequel and the only continuity would be the Frog Brothers. After that bit of news it changed that Sam (Corey Haim) would be in the sequel to the next day that nobody but Edgar Frog (Corey Feldman) would be in the movie. Then it surfaced that they were doing reshoots and that Sam would indeed be in the sequel but nobody knew to what extent. After all those changes my excitement for the movie was almost gone so as you can imagine my anticipation for seeing the movie wasn’t too high going into this. Lost Boys: The Tribe is my first direct-to-DVD sequel and I have to admit that it wasn’t the worst movie that I had ever seen. It didn’t bring justice to the original movie but on the other hand it wasn’t exactly a bad attempt. I believe that my low expectations for the movie actually helped me like the movie. Edgar Frog (Feldman) in the movie was awesome! It totally made the movie for me. Without him the movie would have been ok at best. Every vampire flick needs a vampire hunting surfboard shaper! Trust me…it works. The low budget shows and it’s a shame too. In some instances, though, you can see where even with the cut corners they made a good special effect. The best part of the movie for me though was shortly after the credits start roll. I won’t give it away but I will tell you that it involves Edgar Frog and a long lost friend from the first movie. In my opinion it is the best part of the movie and show what could have been or maybe SHOULD have been.
