This movie is very good.It captures the fear of a mother who cant find her child.It was well acted and Torro delivers again with his stunning visuals.It sometimes follows the ghost story cliches like the little boy who has imaginary friends and the women which everyone thinks is going crazy.Still the movie had a very good storyline and the performances where highly believable.I would highly recommend this film to Del Torro or horror fans.

the flim was suspenseful griping but not exactly a horror flim but it had its moments they did not show enough of tomas but it was worth a rent i would recomed this to any body who liked pans labyrinth or del turos work

Beautiful and well written. I would put it in a category with Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth.

Whenever I go to see a Guillermo del Turo film its not exactly what I expected to see. This wasn't just a horror movie. There isn't just a psycho with an axe. He manages to make it suspenseful without the pointless violence. The entire movie pulls your attention, not just the climax.

Its more than just just a horror movie because fear emotion it attempts to produce. It has many different aspects you usually don't expect from something in the horror genre. I'm not sure if I would label the ending as happy or sad. I'd recommend this for anyone.
