I liked it.But however I did not get the title.The camera was to shaky for me.The special effects were awesome and there was some funny moments.Over all it was a good movie.

well it was an original movie,and cool...
but the camera in one person view is not so good as it becomes very messy when that person is moving/running.nut other than that it was good
very good special effects/sound effects...

This movie was good and I liked it. The only problem for me was that it was over before you realised it. The movie was considerably less than 90 minutes long (even if it wasnt very less, it felt like it).
The movie was good and the SFX were awesome. I had heard mixed reviews about this saying that you never see the monster and 'blah-blah-blah', but no, I'm sorry, you see it planty of times and it was a great movie.
Sure it has its faults, but what horror/thriller movie doesnt. It's never going to entertain 100% of an audience.
This film allowed the surrealness of the plotline to feel very real and thats what gave it great effect. The acting was superb especially from the guy who in majority was holding the camera (I forgot his name) and he added humour even if the most life threatening parts.
Back to the acting, it was great because if a situation like that, you would always feel that that would be how civilians would reac in circumstances.
The camera angles weren't so shifty as I thought they would be, but I believe thats what made it better. The guy holding the camera obviously had great control lol.
I also watched this movie in HD which completely added to it. It made it more amazing and furtherly entertaining.
In conclusion, this movie was a good movie but a longer (more lengthy and strong plotline) could have made it a classic in my book. But alas.

But don't let that fool you, this is not a low budget film. I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy that this early in the year, there is already a great movie to see. Most of the movies of 2008, haven't been that great, 27 Dresses was forgettable, Meet the Spartans is already one of the worst of the year, Untraceable is unwatchable, Over Her Dead Body was a treat but Cloverfield had me in applause. The only minor problem I have with this movie is that this is post 9/11 in Manhattan, and myself being a New Yorker, was a little emotional at the thought that 9/11 was nothing compared to this. Definitely see this though, great, amazing movie.

The movie really used the handheld video camera to it's best. There is a time when the auto focus is used to great effect. I also like the brief moments when the video that is being over written comes through.
