Another great movie about crimes against humanity and and how people come together to survive such horrors. I liked this movie for the fact that it dealt with happenings in the eastern front of WW2. We all know that jews were killed all over the continent but this story takes place in a forest in the middle of nowhere off of the beaten path that most WW2 movies take. It had action but this movie was more about humanity and survival in a true sense, not in a Hollywood way. It was touching and I would recommend it to anyone, not just a history buff.

Its an alright movie, but if you expect a "Saving Private Ryan" experience, don't look for it here. Its more intuitive than a real action war film. Defiance shows the effect of a ragtag communal group of Jewish refugees and displays those who rise to power (Daniel Craig) and become leaders are no better than the common man. While battle scenes tend to be short, a movie to see that will intrigue the psyche
