Why do couples break up, why even bother taking the journey at all if you risk getting hurt or nothing more will bloom? I'll admit I am not a fan of romantic comidies or even romance stories in general because the problem with most of them are they don't feel realistic, belvable, or just not done right. But this film I thought was just beautiful because it nails all three things I look for in a romance story. In a way this film isn't so much about both the two character's romance but it's basically about our romatic relationships as well. This film isn't so much about wanting two people to get togther and stay together but it's really about their journey together and what both got out of it. What makes this film great for me is just how realistic and human it feels. The format of the film is sort of similar toward the TV show "How I Met Your Mother" it's told non linar style. We see they relationship revealed non cronologically and I think that is great because it not just creates a sense of intregue but realism as well because as human beings we never really remember anything in order but in mere pieces like piece of a puzzle all to form a big picture. I even like the experimental things they did which didn't feel out of place at all, in fact I felt it gave it sort of a journalistic quality.

But most importantly the emphasize factor. Both characters Tom and Summer are just written so well, I can't help but feel both characters are loosely based on myself because I actually have the characteristics of both intermixed in me; like Tom I'm shy and highly believe in love and like Summer I'm not a commitment type but I can easily change my mind and I like different things and personal freedom. I know wild thing to say but the thing is most of what they do and experence I can relatate because I and the people I've dated or had relationships with we did so fun quarky things, said things we've never said to anyone else, as well as some of the times when we broke up.

My conclusions to why people broke up are these, 1. The magic is gone. 2. Just simply wanting different things in life and different directions. 3. Simply just not the one. Which was what happened with those two and me. But we go on these journey's because we all want the best out of life, we want to feel we're alive, not alone, and may'be even some sort of change. And the more we exercise the art of interaction and connect the more we can become better individuals. Tom and Summer both discover a truth in love and life in general, When one season ends another always begins.
