This film left me shell shocked with a mixture of amzement, sympathy and simply breath taking images. The story line itself is fairly simple however the way it is portrayed is astonishing. Some parts of the film are slow but it is made up for by the amazing imagery that you have to admire as the film progresses. You are constantly drawn in to the character Alex/Chris. His history, his aims for the future and his unique mentality on life. The morals of the story are so true. The final scene is symbolic and is a great climax to the journey we have followed our character on. Overall, a breathtakingly beautiful fim.

This was a real tour de force for Sean Penn and all in this production. Hirsch was brilliant as Christopher McCandless who seals himself into isolation before he even goes off into the wild. The pacing was well-executed as we really see that all the people, his parents, sister, everyone, was isolated an in their own wild solitude with no connection. In the end, he scribbles in his journal, his last attempt, a real attempt, but it's too late. Then they all connect in different times. Maybe it's never too late. Haunting and brilliant, subtlety is the ost difficult thing!

I didnt knew that its a real life story till at the end when it was mentioned there. The tragic end was quite sad and I feel sympathy for the family. This movie knocks our heart to think about about relationships which we keep making in our lives...

Penns directing is very good throughout the whole movie, nd it has a very well written script. Pretty mutch all of the actors are wonderful, even small extras. The music plays a big role in this movie, it sets the right mood for the movie. With Some realy breathtaking scenes and memorable directing Into The Wild will probably be remembered for a long time.

Absolutely the best movie I've watched all year. Gripping drama, comedy and thrilling to watch as this true story unfolds. Traveling around the U.S with Chris aka Alex Supertramp really draws you in and gives you a better understanding for why he is almost running into the wild so often. If you like True event movies, the wild or just a great story then definitely see this film.

Beautiful and poignant movie with great acting and great cinematography. The imagery is gorgeous at times, though some scenes are confusing. Emile Hirsch does a great job.

The film follows the tidal prose of the novel in a way that is intoxicating, haunting and bittersweet. Hirsch captures McCandless's eccentricty, charisma and torment, immortalizing the young man's intriguing adventure. Into the Wild is a human story of individual passion, perserverance, and pain that is more inspiring than tragic. A must see for al believers in the power of the nomadic human spirit.
