The trailers kind of took a bit out of it for me (they didn't show all of the best stuff, but it was quite a bit of it and I just feel like I didn't need to be sold on this one that much, but w/e, advertising isn't the movie). Even the credits are awesome.

You think Platoon was the greatest Vietnam movie? Guess again! Tropic Thunder is an amazing comedy starring Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, Daniel McBride, Brandon T. Jackson, Tom Cruise, and more. It is easily one of the funniest movies in a long time. The story was phenomenal and the comedic material was absolute genius. Tom Cruise was horrifying like hilarious and just a bad dude to mess with when he takes his role as the Les Grossman, the producer of the movie in Tropic Thunder. The story is basically about a group of actors in a Vietnam movie based on a book by a man who lied about being in the Vietnam war named Four-Leaf Tayback. When director Damien Cockburn can't get his cast to cooperate he turns to Four Leaf and he recommends to put them in the real deal and have them sent to a jungle in Vietnam with hidden cameras set up everywhere. All goes according to plan until they all arrive and Damien steps on a landmind blowing him to smitherines. Without a director, the actors wonder cluelessly through the jungle running into troubles along the way which make this movie a must see. If you want an extremely funny comedy that you can watch at any time, then this is by far the perfect choice.

Hilarious movie where all the actors you've come to know and love play roles unique to their portfolios, except for maybe Stiller. I laughed often, and was interested until the end, but it lost steam about 3/4 of the way through.

Ok I have seen two very simular comedy movies in the past week and it's time to find out what I think of Tropic Thunder. Great cast including Ben Stiller, Jack Black and ofcourse Robert Downey Jr. Ben Stiller is good in the film he mande me laugh a few tmes one of his better roles in my opinion. Jack Black was a bit of a dissapointment he didn't do much in the film he only had a couple of decent jokes. Robert Downey Jr was outstanding his character was the best out of the three he made me laugh loads of times. The premise of the film was simple and really funny. The movie had a great supporting cast you will see a few familur faces in there including some actors from Apatow films, Steve Coogan and Tom Cruise. Matthew McConaughey's character also made me laugh. The film wasn't as good as I expected but that doesn't mean it wasn't good. It's one of those films that show aall the best bits on the trailers. I would advise you to go see this if you want to watch a fun movie but if you haven't seen Pineapple Express already go watch that instead because it's better. Tropic Thunder gets 4 stars.

This was A pretty funny movie I think it could hae been better with who all they had but it wasnt to bad at all I would see it once I think tom Cruise stole the show for sure

This seemed like both to me. Tom Cruise was a bit of a laugh, Jack Black didn’t add any of his joke value to the film and Ben Stiller who was on main lead just seemed to end up playing the jackass of his own pathetic creation.

The storyline of creating a film in a film with fake acting then trying to say certain things are real seemed all wayward. This process of dodgy acting mixed with a bad script, explosions you have seen before all end up making a pile of dog-poop. Clearly Ben Stiller has run out of good ideas.
