Sadly, what people think Batman (and super heroes) are all about today, but as a movie itself, the characters lack realistic motivation no matter how inflated the portrayals.

There are three simple-minded world views explicitly laid out in the film - good, bad and anarchy. The Joker turns Dent from good to bad (in the form of revenge), while he somehow himself lives by the juvenile anarchy world view that is unrealistic for the normal social structure of a troup of baboons. Even the "goth" kids that society worries will shoot up schools have better-defined motivations than the Joker character.

A real Batman is simply not present, Alfred is there to remind him of his mission repeatedly. Bale is forced into the bad cartoon of husky-voiced and meaningless - "I'm Batman" - and the character seems to drop any sense of intellect when he puts on the suit. Aside from a cell-phone escapade that it is a send-up of post 9/11 privacy issues and a strange computer animation of a bullet to determine a fingerprint, Batman does NO detecting whatsoever.

I would actually pay another admission fee to wipe this movie from the records of a culture so conned as to think of this junk as "art". Without its "graphic novel" connotation, it's just a bad "Die Hard" movie.

This is parody on an equal or greater level than the 60s TV series ever was. But instead of slightly silly, the difference here is that this movie panders to the puzzling and inexplicably ugly.

I thought this was a great movie. I was impressed with the fact that Ledger made the role of Joker his own, and did not try to copy-cat the other great Joker's in past years, such as Jack Nicholson. Definitely holds up well against Batman movies...

Better late then never, here is my movie review of two thousand and eights most talked about film The Dark Knight.Just got back from seeing this epic movie and I have to say it lives up to the hype in fact it is probably the best movie I have ever seen. Heath Ledger's performance was amazing in this, he deserves all the praise we have been hearing all summer and it is so sad what happened to him, I knew he was a good actor but from this performance he shown how good he was and I have to say well done, at one moment he would have you laughing and then a few seconds later you would be scared silly. I wont say much about the movie because the slightest thing I say would spoil the movie so instead I will just talk about some key scenes which I enjoyed and the casts performances.Starting with my favourite actor Christian Bale I really liked him as Batman in the first film Batman Begins and I thought he was great in this but really I was dissappointed with the screen time Bale had we did not see much of Bruce Wayne in the film and in Batman Begins we saw a lot of Bruce. In The Dark Knight we did not see much of him mainly bcause he was constantly over shadowed by The Joker and Harvey Dent who where also great as you would expect. That is the one thing in my opinoin that lets the film down, now on the up side Aaron Eckhart was great in this film he played the character Harvey Dent and I thought Eckhart did a superb job I had not seen this actor in any film but I had heard that he was good and he sure is, I have to say the Cast for this movie was great, one of the best I have seen in a movie in recent years. Being a huge fan of Lost, Heroes and Prison Break I had an extra treat in seeing the actors William Fichtner, Nestor Carbonell and Eric Roberts they were all good in the scenes they where in. Maggie Gyllenhaal was great as Rachel Dawes better than Katie Holmes in the first film. The direction again was awesome from Christopher Nolan who is becoming one of my favourite directors. There where some really great scenes in this movie ones that stood out for me where the ofcourse the big chase scene which had me on the edge of my seat, the opening scene was cool too, Hospital scene was just amazing and shocking oh and the last scene with The Joker and Batman was awesome but also chilling, there are many other great moments in The Dark Knight aw heck the whole thing is great. If you haven't seen The Dark Knight what have you been doing with your lives go out and watch it NOW! Even if you dont like Comic book movies see it because personally I would ****this as not a comic book movie it had everything action(a lot of it), horror, romance and a load of other stuff. It is the best movie out there with a chilling and comical performance from Heath Ledger.I say "Bring on the sequel". I give The Dark Knight a well deserved 5 stars.
