'In the Name of the King' fulfills all expectations of an Uwe Boll film.

Horrible dialogue, two-dimensional characters, lousy cinematography, cheesy effects and a plot which is nearly impossible to care about, makes it worth skipping. I have sworn NEVER watch another Uwe Boll movie again.They've proved to be a waste of time and money even if its a $1 pirated DVD. Don't buy it ,rent it, download or even think of borrowing it from a friend.

Now a lot of people have attacked this movie and called it horrible. I will be honest and say its not the greatest movie but.. its not horrible either. I am not a big fan of LOTR and really cannot watch them without falling asleep. At least I can...

Now a lot of people have attacked this movie and called it horrible. I will be honest and say its not the greatest movie but.. its not horrible either. I am not a big fan of LOTR and really cannot watch them without falling asleep. At least I can watch this movie. People attack boll all the time but I will say at least he tries. Boll tries to make a good movie which I give him credit for. Its not like he goes out to make a bad movie. The story tells of a man called farmer whose family is attacked by some creatures who are being controlled by a evil magician. They kidnap his family so he goes out and tries to save them. He thens meets up with the king's soldiers and ends up fighting with them. Then the king dies and he finds out he is the new king. Then he goes out and fights the evil magician. Now that story does not sound so bad. The major problem with this movie is the casting. There are a few actors miscast in this movie which tend to bring the movie down. Reynolds cast as the king is horrible. Liotta cast as the evil magician is horrible. Lillard cast as the foolish nephew who teams with the evil magician is horrible. Is this boll's fault that they are horrible?? well somewhat but not totally. Yes people I am defending Boll. I have seen many many directors with better casts making horrible movies and yet they are not attacked. Yet boll who makes a lot of video game movies is constantly being attacked. People leave him alone he is trying. There are quite a few similarities to LOTR in this movie. The special effects in this movie are not really good. The acting is bad lets face it but overall the movie is not that bad. If you just watch this movie for what it is.. a decent fantasy movie with some bad acting and special effects.. its not that bad. Give Boll a break!!.. He tried..

In The Name of the King is a truly horrible little film. Then again, almost everything Uwe Boll has ever produced is guaranteed to be crappy. Seriously, he's the next Ed Wood.

This movie almost completely rips off Lord of the Rings while removing almost everything that made the LOTR series as huge an influence as it is today. I honestly don't know how the hell Uwe Boll managed to get Jason Statham to star in this movie.

However, the movie is also truly awesome. That's right, it's so crappy it managed to break the barrier of crap and somehow become good fun. If you look at all the stupidity in the movie, it becomes quite funny.

I downloaded this movie, witch means i didn´t spend any money whatsoever but still i regret the bandwitch i wasted with this piece of crap..
