I thought the movie was funny but it was hard to understand some of the lingo. Some people might take offense to it but in my opinion anything can be made fun of in a good way and to me this was.

I find it disturbing that comedians seem to feel because they are a certain religion or race that they have the right to act or make fun of it any way they want to. Sandler plays The Zohan an israeli super soldier who cannot be hurt or beat or anything. So he wants to cut hair fakes his death and goes to ny. Then someone spots him and he has to try to cover his past life. Hmn now if I did not know any better I would think that all israel people walk around with erections, talk with funny accents, only want to have sex with older women or with any women and eat a lot of hummus. To be honest this movie is not really funny and some of the jokes I would find offensive if I was jewish. He does not paint a good picture of his religion with this movie. I guess the sight of seeing sandler walking around with a constant erection is funny. Seeing him and his friend kick around a cat is very very funny I guess in some planet. I find schneider funny in the little scenes but they are few and fair between. There are quite a few star cameos but overall this is not a very good movie. Unless you are an adam sandler fan I really cannot see you liking this movie. Its pretty bad.

I spent the whole time laughing, actually. Zohan wasn't the movie I'd first wanted to see, but decided at the very last moment to go see it. I wasn't disappointed at all. The humour was quite below belt line, but that's what I expect from a movie...

If I had one word to describe this film, the word interesting comes to mind. It's one of those movies that will make you laugh, but give you nightmares at the same time. Overall, Sandler stars in a decent film, but not anywhere near his cla$$ics like Water Boy, Happy Gilmore, or Billy Madison. However, it was better than some of his films, particularly the more recent ones. I liked this better than Chuck and Larry, even though I wasn't fond of it to begin with. Anyways, this movie has great, typical humor that will probably guarantee you a laugh. However, this movie goes way overboard in a weird way...more than once you'll be in disbelief of what you just saw. Looking back on those disturbing scenes, I laugh. They are hilarious, but at first you'll be scarred temporarily. Anyways, this movie didn't have the most fantastic story behind it, but that doesn't make me upset. For me, a good comedy generally has some sort of plot, but not some thorough concept that you'd have to watch seven times to understand. You Don't Mess with the Zohan had its story, but I won't get into it just to completely avoid spoiling the movie at all. It will make you laugh with the constant sex-related jokes, especially if you are a teenager much like myself. Also, for those teens out there, I recommend you see this movie with a friend and not your parents. I could only imagine how uncomfortable I'd be watching this around them. Nonetheless, it is a pretty decent film that will probably keep you entertained throughout the entirety of it.

Just after a week of debate on Adam Sandler's talent, those who said he wasn't were proved wrong by the release of "You Don't Mess With the Zohan". I can honestly say that it is one of the funniest movies I've seen so far this year, besides Harold and Kumar: Escape from Guantanamo Bay. Adam Sandler is Zohan, an Israeli soldier who fakes his death to go to New York City and make the world "silky smoothe". Adam Sandler is very, very funny in this. After he gets to New York he sees that Israelis and Palestines are also fighting in America, not just back in the Middle East. Then there's the corny happily ever after ending with peace between Jews and Muslims, and talk of corrupt businessmen and racist rednecks. Of course the movie is idiotic, and I wouldn't even call it a film, more like one of those mock videos on Saturday Night Live, but I just had a really good time laughing out loud for practically two hours.

The movie scored constant laughs, but there were plenty of jokes that just completely fell flat. However, it is relentless in it's attempt at the funny so while it misses a lot, it scores more than enough times to have you laughing a lot. It's a funny movie full of absolutely random, and ridiculous humour. If you're looking for something intellectual, forget it. If you're in a good frame of mind, you can really get into this and enjoy it. It is dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb. But if you go into an Adam Sandler film expecting anything more, then you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. I liked it.

  The movie "Munich" should have been. At the very least, it's got to be the first picture to use smelly-feet jokes as a means of parsing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
